One of Illinois’ most famous state parks, Starved Rock is on the Illinois River and has lots of activities for nature lovers! Boating, camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, and kayaking are available at this park. There are also concessions, picnicking, and the Starved Rock Visitor Center and Lodge/Restaurant. The Lodge is also a great place to have events or even weddings!

Weldon Springs State Park

Just south of Bloomington-Normal, Weldon Springs State Park is a 550-acre park that offers recreational opportunities year-round. You can fish, boat, picnic, camp, hike, view wildlife, pitch horseshoes, sled, toboggan, ice fish, and cross-country ski.

Channahon State Park

The official trailhead for the Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail, this is where the DuPage, Des Plaines, and Kankakee Rivers join. Park activities include camping, canoeing, fishing, picnicking, and access to the trails.

Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park

This 162-acre state park offers hiking, canoeing, picnicking, recreational activities, and a state memorial to commemorate the approximate location of Abraham Lincoln’s first home in Illinois.

ABOUT BRAD STEPHENS

Lifelong resident and supporter of the 20th District, Representative Bradley A. Stephens was sworn in on June 29, 2019.

Stephens concurrently serves as the CEO of one of the most successful municipalities in the nation, Rosemont, Illinois. Prior to becoming mayor, Brad Stephens served the Village of Rosemont as a member of its Board of Trustees for 18 years.
