This summer, we traveled around the state to amazing state parks around Illinois. While we live near a major world metropolis in the 20th District, we are in a state with lots of diverse natural beauty. There are many opportunities from Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park to Fort Defiance to get into nature. Whether you’re hiking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, geocaching, or enjoying a picnic, there are so many beautiful places to visit in the Prairie State.

Just because Labor Day is coming up and we are looking to a new school year and fall ahead of us, it doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy Illinois’ spectacular outdoors. Fall brings our most gorgeous foliage and winter opens the doors to activities like sledding, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
